Covid-19
Upon arrival, you must produce your original test result and travel certification received from the Travel Screening Portal.
Please visit www.usvitravelportal.com for the latest Covid-19 updates. All travelers age 5 and over are required to submit results through the travel portal of a negative covid test taken and received within 5 days of commencement of travel OR submit results through the portal of a positive Covid antibody test taken within 4 months of commencement of travel.
Essentials
Do not place valuables / medicines / prescriptions / travel documents in checked luggage. Please carry them on the plane with you. You may want to throw an extra outfit and some essentials in your carry-on just in case.
Passports
US Passports are not required, but still recommended for travel to the US Virgin Islands. If you want to go to one of the British or French West Indies Islands, which are all very close, you will need your passport!
Language
English is the official language. Spanish is also commonly spoken.
Time
Atlantic Standard Time (AST). Same time zone as U.S. East Coast – EST.
Currency
The currency is the U.S. Dollar (USD). ATM machines can be found on all 3 islands. The most widely accepted form of credit cards are: Visa and MC.
Cell Phones
Phones from the U.S. mainland will work on the island. However, international plans are recommended. Please check with your carrier.
Driving
Driving is on the left side of the road – English style! Seatbelts are required by law. It is illegal to drive while speaking on your cell phone. Bring your ear-piece!
Weather
April to June is the best time to visit the U.S. Virgin Islands. You can expect mild weather and very little rainfall. July to October is rainy season.
